Lehigh Email
Posted Sep 25, 2013

This email is going out to all Synergy parents in the Lehigh Valley area.   We want you to know that Synergy will hold an open gym this Sunday at Forks Township from 1:00pm to 4:00pm for all age groups.  As you know there have been quite a few changes in regard to competitive club volleyball especially in the Lehigh Valley area.  We are hoping you will take this opportunity to come to see what Synergy has to offer your family this year.  We earned your commitment last year – as you will see below we are working diligently to earn it again this year.  We want to show you some of the new programs that Synergy will bring to the court this year at the same time upholding the traditions that have brought us such success in the past.

Open Gym Sign Up

We would encourage families to sign up so we can ensure the ratio of athletes to coaches is good.

New programs:

Lafayette College Agility and Strength training.  Deb:input

Synergy Scout

The Synergy Scout program is designed to work in conjunction with Open Gyms and Tryouts.  It provides another means for players to showcase their skills.

Have any questions you would like answered? Email them to Synergy’s e-Townhall.  They will be addressed to all in an open style format.

Practice schedules

Synergy has secured convenient practice times at Charles Chrin Community Center.

Practice hopping

This is a popular program we are introducing to Lehigh Valley, if you cannot make your practice hop to another age group at Lehigh or hop (well this is more like a hop, skip and a jump) to KOP to practice with your same age group.

Quality uniforms

We listened – Last year Synergy went with a little lower quality uniform.  This year we have partnered with Rox Volleyball- your gonna love the new styles and improved quality!

Active Leadership

The leadership at Synergy has changed and so has their philosophy.  Come and meet them and get your questions answered in person at the open gym.  The club leadership will play an active role in the Lehigh Valley region and the Lehigh Leadership will be active in KOP.  Club is an expensive investment in time, energy, effort and money.  Here is your chance to meet with the most experienced coaches in the Region- why not take advantage of it?

We instituted a year end survey program and have benefitted immediately from the response.  We are changing the uniform quality and will work on making sure there is enough practice time.  A common complaint last year was that tournaments were on Sunday and that was also a practice day.  So sometimes athletes only practiced 1 time per week.

Brand new website – please visit it.  It is by no means complete we are adding information daily.

Drill Clinic:  Direct Response to Individual Lifelong Learning

Synergy will offer new DRILL clinics, the intent is to DRILL in skills by coaching and repetition. Each clinic will focus on particular skill set such as passing.

Practice Facility

Synergy’s home will be Charles Chrin Community Center.

Competitive Schedule

Synergy teams will compete in local, regional and National tournaments as appropriate with age, skills, and team performance.

Qualified Coaching

This is both a Tradition and a new program.  At Synergy we are committed to improving our coaches, our teams, our club, and our region.  The minimum certification required to coach in the KRVA region is Impact (Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory).  We do not expect the minimum from our kids so we will not compromise for the minimum from our coaches.  From here forward we are requiring all our coaches to become a minimum of CAP level 1 through the Coaching Accreditation Program supported by USA Volleyball.  At present, Synergy has the most CAP certified coaches of any club in the KRVA Region.  Read more here

Local Director

We are very excited to have hired a new Director for the Lehigh Valley Region.  Deb Schlosser comes to us with years of experience and success coaching and directing club volleyball.  She is currently the Assistant Coach for Moravian College and her bio can be found here: Deb Schlosser bio

Recruiting Seminar

This is both a tradition and a new program.  This recruiting seminar was hosted at King of Prussia last year that’s the tradition this year all the Lehigh families will be personally invited to attend.

We earned your business last year we look forward to the opportunity to earn it again this year see you Sunday!
